Parker, who grew up in Westchester and is a fourth generation county resident, was elected to the Rye council in
2007 and reelected in 2011. She owns a shop in the city.
“I chose to be here to raise my family,” she said. “I know why we’re all living here. I know what Westchester County
offers.”
Parker said she first ran for elected office because she had always felt she should be involved in her community.
“My mom taught me that our community is really an extension of our home,” she said.
As a legislator, she said, she wants to work with both sides to get things done. People are tired of the divisiveness
apparent at all levels of government, she said.
