work collaboratively to solve problems
No one can predict every challenge that Westchester County will face over the next two years. Whatever the issue, though, I can promise to address it in exactly the way I’ve always done: by looking for solutions, building consensus, and forging bipartisan agreements that work for everyone. Issues like sustainability can often be treated like political footballs, and the debate over Playland had at times in the past been reduced to partisan posturing.
Not only did I lead the efforts to create our new Energy Director and craft a new management agreement for Playland, but I helped make sure those initiatives received not just bipartisan but unanimous support from the Board of Legislators. Our challenges can be met if we work together, and I’ll never stop reaching across the aisle and working collaboratively to find solutions – regardless of which party’s idea they originally were.
